Most anti smoking laws define smoking as either use of tobacco, or having something lit. But electric cigarette has no tobacco, and it doesn’t use a flame at all. According to laws electric cigarette doesn’t qualify as smoking, and thus is still legal in situations where smoking might not be. It’s likely that American laws will have to make a similar judgment. Not only is using in the car legal and safe for your passengers, but it’s also a great deal safer.
